Within Zilker Park's 358 acres lies one of the crown jewels of Austin, Barton Springs Pool. Three acres in size, the pool is fed from under ground springs and is on average 68 degrees year round.

Barton Springs is a popular swimming hole for practicing open water swimming. The length is approximately 1/8-mile, and there are no lane lines. But there is plenty of marine life to view while swimming! At a constant temperature of 68 degrees, it is also a great place to practice swimming in a wetsuit.

We meet at Barton Springs for many of our long runs, so that after the run we may soak our legs in the cold water (this is a terrific recovery aid!)

Entry is usually $3, however it is free from November through March (call 476-9044 to check for the dates).
