We have avatars!

Alright gang -- so we can all get to know each other better, I have changed some settings (hope I didn't break anything, Scott!) so that you can upload a photo of yourself, and your photo will be displayed whenever you post a comment. I can't figure out how to get it to display the photo along with an original forum post, but this will be a start. If you don't like having the photos displayed, let me know and I can turn it off.

Let's see some user pics! Go to "my account" and then click on "edit" and then you can upload a headshot of yourself. Note the limit of 100x100 pixels and 10KB. I'd like to request that you use a real photo of yourself, and not a cartoon of a planet-eating-space-invader or your favorite pet or celebrity... ;-)

Tom has some awesome photos from various races and training events (thanks, Tom!!) -- I may surprise some of you and post a photo for you! :-)

Edited to add:  Hmmm... looks like it went retroactive, so comments have been updated for any of you who already have photos out there...

Now your photo will be posted for any comment you make -- that includes private members-only areas, as well as public areas.  Public comments are sometimes posted under "Races," in the public section of our discussion forum (including this thread), and under some stories that are posted on the home page.

Let me know your thoughts one way or another!!

I forgot to add...

The old size was 85x85, and I increased it to 100x100.  So if you had already posted a photo and would like to post a larger one that is more visible, feel free to upload a new pic!

Thanks for the avatar

I recognize that pic as the one Carolyn took at the top of Enfield Road Hill at mile 12 of last year's AT&T half Marathon.  Thanks!

You know...

I saw that one appear when I flipped the switch, so I assumed you had uploaded it prior to the switch... you didn't??  I didn't either!  I wonder if our webmaster did?

It's a great photo!  :-)

akobus's picture

i think I put it on the 'team members' page?

a long time ago. If it doesn't offend anyone I'll leave it there.

Trying it out

...seeing what it looks like...because something tells me I'm not compute savvy enough to do this. And I don't have any pictures of me (at least not in my files). Mom is the one always doing the picture taking!

Figures

See what I mean? :-)

I'll take your picture!

I'll be happy to take anyone's picture and also resize it to the required size, if you'd like. Or, if you have a picture already and would like for it to be cropped/resized, just email it to me and I can do that in a snap.

Email me at *******.

Thanks!

Tracy e-mailed me off forum offering the same and I sent her a pic to crop. I probably would have figured it out eventually....after a couple of hours spent on it...sigh....technologically challenged. I feel like my mother sometimes! What can I say?

ahhhhh..

That's better!  Thanks Tracy!

I removed the email address

This post is public, so I pulled the email address out. Members can click on shayla's avatar and use the contact page to email her.

don't worry Pam

The first thing I tell people I know in the computer industry is, "I'm graphically challenged" and I really mean that...
