Lake Pflugerville
Officially dedicated in April of 2006, Lake Pflugerville is new place to swim, bike, and run. The 180-acre lake is ringed by a 3.1 mile crushed granite hike/bike trail. The country roads in the area provide many miles of cycling routes.
The lake is located at the northwest corner of Pfluger Lane and Weiss Lane. Click here for map link to the intersection (the lake is not on Google maps yet).
Click on "attachment" for a 32-mile route. Even if you're not up to 32 miles, the map can be helpful for creating your own route.
Directions:
From I-35, go east on the main street into Pflugerville (1825, turns into Pecan St. Watch the speed limit signs - they do patrol in P'ville!). After you go through town, turn left onto 685 (there is an HEB at that corner). Go up a few miles and then turn right on Pfluger Lane. (note: after heavy rains, Pfluger Lane may be closed. If that's the case, keep proceeding north on 685 until you get to the SH130 intersection. Turn right, then turn right again and stay on the SH130 frontage road, heading south. Then you'll be able to turn left onto Pfluger Lane and bypass the low water crossing) After a few miles, you'll see the lake on the left. There is a parking lot on the left, just before you get to Weiss Lane.
From the tollway, take the Kelly Lane exit. Go south on the SH130 frontage road, then turn left at Pfluger Lane. The lake will be on your left after a few miles. (or, this is longer and has more traffic, but you can go east on Kelly Lane, then turn right on Weiss. Turn right on Pfluger Lane, and look for the parking lot on the right)
