The newest addition to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series takes place on November 16th in San Antonio, Texas.
Featuring a scenic course and ideal running temperatures in the mid-60’s, San Antonio proves to be the perfect destination for a late-fall running vacation.
Combine your athletic conquests with a weekend getaway in Texas’ cultural mecca.
In true rockstar fashion, 70 live bands, 40 cheer teams and themed water stations will line the course to keep you entertained from start to finish.
After the race, continue the celebration at the post-race evening Headliner Concert at the Alamodome. Stay tuned, the headliner performance will be announced in late summer of 2008!
Past Rock ‘n’ Roll headliners include Chris Isaac, Seal, INXS, Sugar Ray, Journey, Collective Soul, and The Goo Goo Dolls.

I turn 50 in September and my goal is to do a marathon ~ so why not this one? I'm in.

Hi Liz! I didn't realize I'd have company this year (my turn on the 28th)! gosh, I meant to do my first marathon at AT&T. And I probably will. I wasn't going to reply to this post but one of my offspring saw the brochure on the counter.. "hey mom, are you going to do this? it looks cool".. so, maybe the half??? 'specially since it's the inagural race and all.

....so can I! Actually, I think you'll get several of the Smack posse in the 1/2 marathon. My husband may even do it if we can figure out the childcare.

If I can, ANYBODY can! Right now, I wouldn't be able to, but after six more months of training, it's just barely possible that I might actually be able to fiish a half marathon in 4 or 4.5 hours. Go for it, Susan!

Tom and I signed up at the Expo for the Mardi Gras Marathon and Half Marathon and we're doing the Nashville Country Music Marathon, which is part of the whole Rock n Roll series. Last year Country Music had over 32000 participants racing. There were bands everywhere and tons of supporters along the route. San Antonio sounds like it is also going to be as much fun! Let's do a road trip!Â
