Tri Zones Training

Commonly known as Decker Lake, this park is the home of the Danskin Women's Triathlon and Couples Triathlon.  Close to the Travis County Expo Center in east Austin, this park is popular with fishermen and women training for Danskin.

Notes about practicing at this site: 

• Swim -- there is no designated swim area.  Please go all the way down to the dam and swim close to the dam, where few boats travel.  (be careful not to disturb any fishermen in that area!).  Always swim with a buddy and wear a brightly colored swim cap!
• Bike -- people are not allowed to practice on the Danskin bike course due to heavy construction traffic.
• Run -- please wait until the run course has been mowed, usually sometime in May.
  

Directions:
Take 290 east about 7 miles past I-35, turn right on Decker Lane, go past the Travis County Expo Center, turn left on Decker Lake Rd., veer left on Hog Eye, and turn left at Blue Bluff and park just outside the park entrance and bring $1 to pay at the entrance booth.  (otherwise it costs $8 to park inside the park)
