Burnet TRI-Hard Challenge Triathlon

Remember, we "Tri for Pie"!
COURSE - The course is located at scenic Inks Lake State Park just west of Burnet (about 9 miles down Hwy. 29). The swim is an out and back, open water in Inks Lake. Water temperature is still around 80 degrees this time of year. Bike ride is out and back on Park Rd. 4, a paved State road. This is an open road race and all laws and safety precautions must be strictly enforced. The bike has a few slight grades and curves, nothing major. The 5K is through the campsites in the park, again, no major hills to contend with.
The event is a limited field event with registration closing by Sept. 1 -- but it could close earlier if filled, so register early! This is the last year that this race will be offered.
There is limited camping at the race site.
After the race we can drive into Marble Falls to Bluebonnet Cafe for PIE- as long as we get there before 1:00, because they close at 1:45!

Who else is in for this tri, and camping in the cabins? I'm up for potluck cooking over the campfire on Saturday night.
I am racing for the pie in the sky!
But I think I will be driving out that mroning, or possobly spend the night with my brother in law who lives in Horsehoe Bay.

I prefer driving in the morning of. The HEB in Burnet opens at 6am, just about the time I arrive needing a bathroom. See y'all out there. Tri for Pie!!

Hey Elizabeth - I was half right. Austin packet pickup is at Austin Tricyclists from 2-7, but it's on Thursday, NOT Friday.

After finishing the Austin Triathlon today, Kelly, Shannon, and I beat the registration deadline and got in. Hooray for pie!
Vickie and I will be there
Vickie and I will be there provided nothing happens this year????? We won't mention any names of who caused us to miss the race last year. cough, cough???? Any way, I will be, I mean we will be camping and I will be having a few tasty beverages (home brew) getting ready for the race on Sunday. No what I meant to say is that I will be carbo loading on Saturday getting ready for the race on Sunday.

Looking for a Relay Team
I'd love to do Burnet, but I doubt I'll be ready in 3 weeks to do the whole thing. But, I will be ready to do the bike (or maybe the run) leg of a relay team. Is anyone interested in the swim and/or the run? It will strictly be for fun, non-competitive, just to "do" it - for the pie, of course.
