Meredith Terranova (long)

I figure this is a good time to talk about my experience with Meredith and what a difference it has made for me.   As some of you may know I have been struggling with nausea/throwing up on my bike since the end of last year. I have seen several medical doctors, including an gastroenterologist,  had many painful, expensive tests and foundNothing but a bit of inflamed stomach lining.    This ended my tri season a bit early last year.   I have been tryingVarious things, but nothing was making a difference.    Then I saw the note from Pam Tobias about how she was seeing a nutrionist, one of my medical doctors suggestedI give this a try, perhaps it was my food intake.    So I sent Meredith an email with Pam’s assistance and setup an appt. Her rates were very reasonable, I figure if I am paying for training for a TRI, why wouldn’t I spend the extra money toHelp with my food intake?    On our first meeting I knew quickly that she was the right person to help, she is in amazing shape and an athlete herselfSo she knows what she is talking about!!   She gave me a personalized meal plan, I am eating 5 times a day, never reallyFeeling hungry.  On that first meeting she gave me TONS of great food ideas, and gave me specific products to buy!  ThatMakes a huge difference for me because I often know how to eat but I am not sure which items are better than others. As if my personalized meal plan wasn’t enough, she gave me information on what to eat when I eat out, how to hydrate properly,What to eat before/after long workouts.   She even breaks down what to eat/drink during a swim, bike and a run.   Giving meThis info has literally changed my workouts.    The FIRST WEEK I was on my new food plan, I biked the new part of Parmer 17.5 miles, with a terrible head wind that took overAn hour to get back, NOT ONCE did I get nauseas!   That is a huge deal for me because on almost all rides this year, I haveEither gotten so sick I had to pull over or not able to make it at all.       Needless to say I am a HUGE fan of her’s and have been on her plan for 3 weeks now and I am down 5 lbs and my workouts are Better than they have ever been!!  If you are going to spend the $$ to train with a group you should spend the $$ to learn howTo fuel properly,  Meredith is the person to help you do this!

Huge Kudos to (little) Pam for this great tip!!

On the fence ...

I also got hear good things from Pam about Meredith during our 6 hour drive to RiverCities last year.   I emailed Meredith shortly after that, but the times she had available to meet just didn't work with ours since I wanted my husband to join me.   I've been on the fence about it ever since, but I think I'm just gonna leave my husband out of it and just do it!

I've really been struggling with my food intake the past 3 months and have gained 15 lbs since I got married in February!  :O   I just need to suck it up and do it.  Thanks for your testimonial, too!

6 hours?

Surely I didn't talk for 6 hours about her, although I'm sure I could!  Meredith is worth the kudos.  Over the previous 4 years, with each goal event I trained for, I had been gaining about 3 pounds over the course of the training.  I had gotten to the point where I did NOT want to gain anymore.  She helped me see why (every workout does not earn me a hamburger and fries) and turn it around.  I lost all that weight and I don't starve myself either.  I just eat a lot of the right stuff, with an occasional treat meal.

I did the 6 week program with my mom, and we spread the 6 sessions out over several months due to travel schedules.  If two or more of you could coordinate to go at the same time, she probably would give you a group rate.   Although her rates are not unreasonable even without a discount.

Good point~

All this about nutrition lately, I'm starting to wonder if I need to listen up.  Ever feel scared about making a huge diet change?  Maybe it's just me, but I'm afraid to quit my favorite (comfort) foods.  <-- Awe man, there's my sign.  Thanks for the wake up call!  So how do we contact Meredith?

oh good point

To be honest I am still not totally sure that its not Red that makes me sick.  I havent rode my bike with her yet, and it almost always seemed to happen with her...  Her husband Phil felt sick after a car ride with her a few weeks back, so watch out anyone who bikes with her!!!

You gotta love me !!

Also, just to add.  You wont have to give up all your food vices she lets you have treat days, you just cant have that burger and fries every night ;-)

But I understand, I am a LOVER of food, I dont go more than a few hours without thinking about it.  I even dream about what I will have to eat the next day...  I am not feeling unsatisfied at all, she gives you so many options you cant miss.
