Need suggestions for Thursday Bike ride
I will be in Colorado this weekend (pretty tough, I know), so I will not be able to do my long brick on Saturday (last one before my race taper).
I decided that I would do this brick on Thursday since I am taking that day off work. The problem is, if I ride Thursday morning at Decker (which is where I really would like to ride one last time) or even Parmer I am going to be on the road during rush hour.
Does anyone ride during rush hour? Is it as harrowing as I fear it maybe? I know that there are parts of the Decker course that have no or very little breakdown lane, but I don't know how bad traffic is out that way since I live north.
If I start at 9:00 will traffic have died down. I really need to be home and functioning by 3:00pm as I have to prepare for my trip.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

969 and 973
969 and 973 are really heavy traffic until about 9:30. There are mainly school busses and scary gravel trucks, more gravel trucks than on the weekend.
YOu could go down south and ride the south end of mopac about 4 or 5 times...

Red- I have rode Parmer at

I have rode Parmer at all times and it is not to bad if you stay north of 1431. If you wait a little later in the am ( 8:30-9 ) you would do fine copying the ride we did a few weeks ago. And if you take it to the dead end you will end up with close to a 50 miler.
Just look for the stupid dump truck drivers that think the speed limit is the minimum.
Have a safe trip.

Parmer at 7:30 am
Scheral and I rode Parmer at 7:30 (from williamson county park) a couple of Friday's ago. It was the Friday before Labor day, so maybe traffic was a bit lighter, but it wasn't bad.
If I did this ride again, I would start at that development south of the "Grass Patch" on Parmer - like we did earlier this year instead of at WilCo Park. The reason is there is a new schoold north of Wilco Park and that narrow "back street" was very busy before we turned onto the cutoff over to Parmer. Or you could wait until school starts (8:00am? 8:30am?)
