Austin Marathon Relay: Run One for the Team.

We invite you to be a part of the Silicon Labs Austin Marathon Relay held at Auditorium Shores on September 21, 2008. This five-leg race is made up of distances from 5k to 11.1k and is suitable for most fitness levels. The Relay has centralized exchange points for the teams to gather and cheer on their teammates, creating a fun, social atmosphere for everyone at the race. Come participate in the only marathon relay in Austin, a one of a kind event that is as unique as the city itself.

Update: Thanks to our newly added "Calvert Cam" you now have the ability to get a turn by turn look at this year's Relay course. Starting at Auditorium Shores, and heading out on Congress Avenue and Cesar Chavez, you can now see exactly where you'll be running this September 21st. This year's race will be broken up into 5 legs, such that the first two legs and the last three legs each equal a half marathon.

  • 1st leg - 10k
  • 2nd leg - 11.1k
  • 3rd leg - 11.1k
  • 4th leg - 5k
  • 5th leg - 5k

When: Sunday, September 21, 2008 at 8:00a.m.

Where: Auditorium Shores

What: 5 person Marathon Relay Race benefiting Junior Achievement. The five relay legs are run in the following order: 10K, 11.1K, 11.1K, 5K, 5K. All relay legs will hand off in the same location near the start/finish line. Registration is online HERE; you will be able to pick up a paper registration form at any RunTex location starting in August.

Beneficiary: Junior Achievement (JA) is an economic education non-profit organization dedicated to teaching children about financial literacy, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness. JA teaches kids how America works!
