Swim Angels

A friend is concerned ‘cause she can’t find anything on the web site about Swim Angels being in the water. Will there be Swim Angels available, if needed?

‹ Can I mark my transition space with a balloon or something like it? Questions relating to change of entry status (Buddy Wave to Age Group or Individual to Relay, etc) ›

Your friend is correct in that there doesn't seem to be anything specifically listed on the web site regarding Swim Angels, but it is my understanding that they will absolutely be available race day.  Danskin Austin does a wonderful job of having support in the water for swimmers who may need a hand.

Information on Swim Angels will most likely be covered during the athlete briefings at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm in the tent outside the Expo space.

There will definitely be swim angels for support. In addition there will be several kayaks out on the lake! Plenty of awesome swim support so everyone can be a confident awesome swimmer!

I assumed there would be Swim Angels but the web site did not ask for volunteer Swim Angels or mention them in any way.

There was a link on the old- un-re-vamped site that had an email address for swim course volunteers. I emailed the person and as of yesterday, they had forwarded my info to the local coordinator, whose name is Troy, I think. I have not heard from him about Sunday, but Im SURE there will be swim angels. I'm thinking that they didnt want that position to eb open to the general public for volunteering, so they could have a more reliable core group, but thats just my assumption.

Troy coordinates the kayaks. He wasn't the swim angel coordinator for Trek so I'm not sure he's the right person to contact to be a swim angel. But who knows, he may be for the Danskin!

I know Troy and he is over

I know Troy and he is over the swim angels and kayakers. Last I heard he was going to be sending out an email early this week to all the swim volunteers. I haven't gotten my  email with the parking pass as of yet and I will be kayaking. I spoke with him last on Sunday. I have a few other people that are going to be kayaking also and a few swim angels. So if you don't hear back from him, just let me know.
