Will there be security overnight for the bikes?

This is my first time to do this and I have one question about the bikes.  Let me make sure that I understand.  I will need to leave my bike overnight?  Do I need to bring a lock to lock it???? Will there be security on Saturday evening?

Yes, there is security!

Yes, it is mandatory that all bikes are checked in to the transition area on Saturday. Athletes must first go to the Expo Center to get their packet and race number. this is needed to check in your bike at transition. You will find your spot there according to your race number and leave just your bike, nothing else.

There is a posted security guard on site all night. If you feel additionally comfortable by locking your bike, by all means, you can do so, but it is a secured area.

Have a great race!

Not to worry!

The transition area will be fenced off and guards are posted over night. You will be assigned a race number at packet pickup. Your packet will include a number that must be afixed to your bike before you drop it off. When you leave the race the next day, the volunteers in transition will be checking to make sure the race number on your arm or leg matches the number on your bike.

If your body marking wear off during the race . . .

please have your race bib number so the volunteers can match you to your bike, and YOU must retrieve your own bike (not your husband, not your sister . . .).

I have volunteered in the transition area and we really, really can;t let you leave with a $3000 bike if you cannot prove it is yours.

Air

don't forget to let a little air out of the tires, so you might prevent a flat.
