Tri-bike Questions
I have ridden the Scott Plasma (Contessa- women specific) tri-bike both inside (Mellow Johnny's) and out (in freezing weather with a headwind).
Yesterday while riding outside, those body parts I could feel felt pretty good, but my biceps and triceps were burning while I was in the aero position(??).
This morning inside, I was not as tense trying to ward off the cold, but my right bicep still hurt in the aero position (that burning overworked muscle feeling and no I did not have a death grip onthe aero bars, but was trying to keep my upper body relaxed).
Then my left hip flexor was bothering me, but since it was not bothering me yesterday morning I am willing to chalk that up to over exerting myself with the bike and the run yesterday.
So my question is, what is up with my arms hurting in the aero position? Do i just need to build up those muscles or get used to the position or is this an inability to get comfortable on the bike issue?
Any advice or insight you have to offer is welcome.

My right arm hurt too
When in the aero positio, my right arm hurt a lot too - especially when I first got my aero-bars. Mine was more my triceps and a bit into the shoulder. Mellow Johnny's adjusted my aero bars when I bought new pedals. Didn't change much. Then I bought new shoes at J&A's and Drew adjusted my seat - thought the bars were fine. Anyway, at Longhorn, I didn't really have the pain -so not sure if it was the adjustments or just building up the right muscles.

I went and saw Zane yesterday
And he adjusted the aerobars. I'll be back a Mellow Johnny's on Tuesday to re-test them if anyone wants to join me in a computrainer class!

What time?
Hi! Red, I have never experienced the intense burning you are talking about, especially during a short test ride. Anytime you change position you can expect to find out if you have a weak muscle group, but usually it just results in some post work out soreness. When on Tues are you doing the compu trainer class? I haven't been in a while.

I've been hitting the computer trainer classes here and again
I've been hitting the computer trainer classes here and again. Usually the 6:30 class before work since I work down town. It really makes you appreciate that there are down hills out on the road.

I would ask Zane about that,
I would ask Zane about that, maybe something is off? I have a tri-bike and I'm no where near your body physique, but I never have that problem, even what little I ride my tri-bike. So, wouldn't think it was an issue of just building up muscles. Now, I do get a neck problem after a while, because of looking up, but I chalk that up to not doing it right and needing a new bike fit.
