Weekly swim classes

Pool workoutJoin us for our weekly swim classes, led by Coach Jennifer Reinhart!

Swimming speed is probably 80% technique and 20% fitness. Proper swimming requires focused mental attention to every lap, instead of mindless wall tag. In short, it's hard. You have to think! A critical step in improving your ability to swim well is to master the basics of how you interact with the water. We will review swimming fundamentals, do a quick assessment of your swim position, breathing, and balance as well as cover a basic drill progression.

Weekly workouts are open to triathletes of all ability levels, whether you are a total newbie or are a seasoned vet looking for a refresher.  The once-a-week class format is designed to improve your swimming stroke, swimming efficiency and speed. Take this class and nail the swimming leg of your next triathlon.

TOPICS WE'LL COVER:

  • Stroke mechanics in pool and open water
  • Balance/body position
  • Breathing techniques
  • Overall triathlon mechanics of swimming & kicking ‘Sighting’ techniques
  • Drills to do in between your class to improve your technique
  • Tips to give you an advantage in open water swimming
