Logon always requires two tries
This was brought up several times but like a good QA person I thought I'd list the steps to reproduce.
Maybe some of you go ahead and have your private data saved so that when you bring up trizonestraining.com, your cookie bypasses the logon prompt. I can logon from work and don't want my private data saved, therefore I always logon each time I want to view the site.
From home on my XPP SP2 system with all latest security patches, I might use my preferred browser Firefox 1.5.0.7, or the alternate (which I don't use much) IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519, 128-bit.
From work I also use Firefox 1.5.0.7 or Vista Ultimate RC1 build 5600, IE ver 7.0.5600.16384.
EDIT on 10/18/2006: Occurs using IE 6.0.2800.1106, 128-bit on W2KSP4 system as well.
In every case, even if I supply perfect credentials and click "login" (not enter), the feedback at bottom of page says 'done' but I actually have to re-enter my logon credentials and click 'login' again. This time it works. Something about the authentication is not processed properly upon first entry.
Haven't tried Opera or any other browser but I think given that these 4 popular browsers exhibit the behavior, it warrants investigating. Thanks!!!!
Thanks for the details. We
Thanks for the details.
We are working on a solution, but the problem is actually tied to a bug in the web server software. Either the webhost, will upgrade the software or we have to come up with a work around.

Not happening to me anymore
For whatever it's worth, I'm able to log in on the first try now.
This should be fixed now.
Please let us know if you have anymore problems.

It just happened again for
It just happened again for me just now. I had to log on twice. I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.7.
Clear cookies
You may have to clear out the old cookies in your browser before it will work. You should be able to just close your browser and it should clear the temporary session cookie for you.
I have tested the fix on:
- IE6
- Firefox 1.5 (multiple machines)
For those more technically inclined, you can use Firefox to view/delete your cookies. trizonestraining.com sets a cookie called PHPSESSID. The bug caused to cookies with the same name to be set. Delete these cookies and log in again.

Hmmmm...
I just tried it in IE and it took two tries. This was after I opened a new browser. Then I deleted the cookies, and it still gave me that problem. I was able to recreate it twice. Haven't tried in Firefox yet...

Still requires two tries
one of the luxuries I have at this job is being able to start with a clean image - no cookies at all to fuss with. However, I just tried again, this time with IE7.0.5744.16384, and I still had to enter the credentials twice. FWIW, I do not allow the password data to be saved (in case that makes a difference in troubleshooting).

Still requires two logins
Still requires two logins for me, too. I've tried it on 2 seperate systems and have deleted cookies.

even more info
After starting with a brand new image, before visiting trizonestraining.com, I went to IE's tools->internet options->privacy->sites and typed in http://trizonestraining.com and clicked 'allow', then exited IE. Restarted IE, went to http://trizonestraining.com and tried login from both the input boxes on the right and the hyperlink at the top. I thought maybe after I entered the credentials twice and successfully logged on, then off, then exited the browser, next time it should only require one logon attempt (Assuming the cookie is set at that point). But it still requires the logon credentials be entered twice to recognize me.

I'm probably the last person to know this, but..
I discovered that if I point the browser to http://www.trizones.com (instead of http://www.trizonestraining.com), I only have to enter logon credentials once. I guess the problem in the past was that entering credentials from trizonestraining.com redirected you to trizones.com, which prompted to enter credentials again? or not. I'm just guessing here... and I've only verified this on Vista (IE7, protected mode)
no, Annette you weren't the last
I guess I was and thanks for the tip...it worked for me when I tried it!!

Thank you Annette!
You are a QA person!! Thank goodness someone is...
I have experienced the same thing but don't have the tenacity to test it the way you have done... Bravo!
