swim google help

Help... I think i must be wearing my swim googles to tight.  Every time I take them off I look like I have been beaten up or just received a very bad face lift.  What am I doing wrong?  Are they to small for my eyes?

Could be that they are too tight

Are they uncomfortable when you are wearing them?  If they feel ok on, but you look like a raccoon afterward and it takes forever to go away, I had that same problem.

Now I wear a swim mask or goggles with bigger lenses that does not push against the delicate skin around your eyes, however, now I end up with the forhead line (although I don't think it's as bad as raccoon eyes).

I had the same problem

but after just loosening my straps progressively over a few swims it seems to be a lot better.  I guess I was afraid they would leak if I didn't have them on so tight.  They say if they stick to your face without the strap they're a good fit...then just adjust the strap to your comfort and see what happens.

goggle not google (sorry)

thanks  i will try that...

your comments helped

thank you to both of you that emailed me your response.  I swam this morning and didn't tighten them so tightly and they didn't leak and i didn't have raccoon eyes.

thanks

me too

I'm having a current raccoon eyes syndrome with a new pair of goggles (Blueseventy's that I won at the roulette wheel at the last Splash & Dash).  I think Lynn has this same white pair - they're very comfortable, but leave coon eyes on me for more than a day. I don't want to switch yet again before Couples tomorrow, but after that, I may go back to a swim mask, like Red & Carolyn wear. I wore masks for years, but then became convinced that shape started leaking on me (regardless the brand), so I went back to goggles. Now, I'm thinking of trying the latest mask again.

In sum, finding the right goggles for you can be tricky, even for experienced swimmers. Glad your issues subsided after a recent swim (and not tightening as much - I'll try that too).

Thanks for posting your question, as the responses are beneficial for me too.
