Buddies Needed for Wetsuit Practice
Next week I need to start swimming with my brand new wetsuit because the water in Budapest will be about 68 degrees. I'd love to learn from experienced swimmers who can be patient with a total wetsuit klutz. I'm buying TriSlide today and will practice pulling the pesky thing onto my body this week.
Didn't several people used to meet at Barton Springs Pool at 6:00 a.m.? Want to do that again? I can be there on Tuesdays or Fridays between 5:00 a.m. and whenever the pool opens in order to get in for free.
If you're willing to help get me started, the stars are sure to shine upon you. And you might get a hug or two. Thanks!
One tip for easy wetsuit application
I learned this from Lil Pam: put a plastic grocery bag over your foot, slide that foot into one leg of your wetsuit, then pull the bag off once your foot is through. Repeat for the other leg and each arm.Â
Still use Tri Slide on the backs of your knees (for comfort while swimming) and neck and anywhere else you feel the wetsuit sticking. But the bag will save you using a whole bunch just to get into the suit.
I wish I could go swim with you! I think my car situation prevents it right now, though...I have to share with my kid and carpool to work. Once the kid goes back to college after August 4, I'll be more flexible.

Thanks for the tips. Maybe we can get together when you're FREE, FREE AT LAST, er, I mean, after the darling daughter departs. (Is it just me who felt relief when the kids went back to college? Love 'em, but leaving is nice too.)
