Tri Zones is proud to have been helping Austinites of all abilities adopt a lifestyle of fitness and accomplish their athletic goals for 11 years!

Tri Zones won the Team Championship category of the Texas Tri Series in 2013... Let's do it together again this year!!!! 

We are pleased to be partnering with the Texas Tri Series and provide quality training for the Tri Series races, along with other Central Texas triathlons. 

Perhaps you're training for your first sprint triathlon, such as The Rookie, Skeese Greets Women's Tri, or CapTexTri. Or you are a repeat triathlete training for another season or looking to ramp up your distance, Tri Zones is here to help you stay motivated, build camaraderie, and reach your triathlon goals. 

 

TRIATHLON TRAINING GROUPS - BEGINNER

First Timers!
Training for your first triathlon is a very exciting and rewarding experience.  Join Tri Zones and you join a FAMILY -- it's not about the race, but the journey you begin with us!

  • Beginner Spring Session
    March 25 - June 15 (12 weeks)
    Goal race: Skeese Greets Women's Tri or Lake Pflugerville Tri

  • Beginner Summer Session
    June 18 - Sept. 28 (15 weeks)

Personalized Ironman training plan combined with team training.  Join our team training for the following Ironman races: IM Texas, IM Lake Placid, IM Florida, IM Arizona, IM Cozumel, and more. Register now!

Personalized and Ironman Training Plans 2014

Excellent Coaching
Our Ironman athletes are in good hands with our distance expert, 4-time Kona Finisher, Coach Jennifer Reinhart.  Coach Jen has led Tri Zoners to Ironman success at IM Texas, IM Florida, IM Cozumel, IM Austria, IM Lake Placid, IM Arizona, and IM Coeur d'Alene. 2011's successes included Coach Jen and two Tri Zones athletes qualifying and competing at IM World Championships in Kona. Coach Jen demonstrates a solid understanding of the fundamentals of distance training and racing while maintaining a healthy balance for life's demands, including family and work.

Classes start on February 4, and payments are monthly.

Team Support
Being part of the Tri Zones family has its perks!  Team support in the past has included:

  • Twice-weekly group quality workouts
  • Some informal group long rides and runs
  • Team tent at some races
  • Race day watch parties at a Tri Zoner's home in Austin, complete with streaming updates on our member forum
  • Team photo gallery
  • "Ironman Sherpa" support at some races -- signs, cowbells, and more!

Peak Performance Training Plans for 2014

For athletes who would like to achieve peak performance with a more aggressive training regimen. Ideal for those who are training for Memorial-Hermann 70.3, Buffalo Springs 70.3, Ironman 70.3 Austin, and Kerrville Half Ironman in October 2014.  Training calendars will be offered at Sprint/Olympic and Half Ironman distances for Austin Tri Series and other local races.  If you require a more individualized schedule due to work or other commitments, please look at the Personalized & IM training   

This is a twice-weekly organized group workout for Peak Performance athletes, led by our distance expert, Coach Jen Reinhart.

Classes for 2014 start on February 4, and payment is monthly.

The Peak Performance program is for those who would like a more aggressive training calendar and who would like a more challenging coached workout two days per week. We welcome all speeds -- even if you're not very fast now, we understand that your priority is maximizing your performance and you're ready to ramp up the intensity.    This is for triathletes who are ready to take it to the next level -- rather than focusing on just finishing, they're ready to focus on performance improvements for a long distance race.  

Requirements:
- MUST be able to comfortably swim 1500 meters, cycle for 2 hours, and run 6 miles, AND
- Completed at least one Half Ironman, or
- A minimum of one to two full years of triathlon experience and completed Olympic or similar-distance events, or
- Solid, competitive base in all three sports

Intermediate Spring Triathlon Training Teams (12 weeks, to June 15)

Kerrville-404-L

Our Intermediate training group is for those who have completed at least 4 or 5 triathlons and you're ready to take it to the next level this spring. You are knowledgeable about all three sports plus transitions. We welcome ALL speeds.

We're happy to be a partner to the Texas Tri Series, and our 12-week Beginner's Spring session ends on June 15 and will prepare you for the following races:  Skeese Greets Women's Tri, CapTexTri, or Lake Pflugerville Tri.  We will also support those who are participating in other spring events, including the Capitol 10K, Rosedale Ride, and various supported cycling events.   This training session will provide a terrific base for summer tri's!

 

Dates:  March 25 or March 26 through June 15 (12  weeks)

At the group workouts:  Our weekly group workouts will include pool swims, cycling, running, and transitions, where you'll receive guidance and valuable tips from our qualified coaches.
Training calendar: 
Will include swim, bike, and run workouts for the other days of the week.  We will offer three tracks: Sprint, Olympic, and Half Ironman.
