"Mountain" Biking - Rocky Hill - Sun., 11/13/11

If you are thinking of doing the Dirty Du, here's an opportunity to ride out at Rocky Hill Ranch (Smithville).  Several of us plan to meet at my house Sunday morning at 8:30 to carpool.  We will probably ride about 2 hours worth and then eat wonderful hamburgers for lunch.

 Come on.  We go pretty easy (well, I do).

Cost = $10 per person

Judy & I are doing a 9-20 mile shady loop in Tarrytown @ 7am (8/27/11)

We are meeting at Mozarts at 6:50a and leave at 7am.

I'm cutting the Mt. Bonnell hill this week b/c it was insane, which cuts 1.5 miles from this map distance.

There are LOTS of great roads to ride around in here if you want to have a creative 2nd loop.

New cycling shoes

I am now in the market for new cycling shoes (compliments of my ADD) and wanted to get some recommendations.  I know I will need to try on every pair until I find a the ones that feel right to me.  However, I was hoping to get some ideas on what brands people are using.  And I am in a bit of a time crunch as I have a race in 2 weeks.

riding the Danskin bike course 5/29

I'm going to go out to Decker Lake Sunday morning and ride the bike course. Is anyone else interested in doing this with me?  I've driven it, but will feel more confident race day if I actually ride!  I was planning on around 8am....but if anyone else wants to meet earlier or later, please let me know!

A little crosstraining in your running season- Tour De Bean (fun ride, all abilities)

Richelle Criswell is putting together another Tour De Bean.  This is a fairly short ride (she is still working on the course), interupted every few miles by a local coffee house stop.  Get your run in on Sunday, join us on Saturday and call it crosstraining!

Tire liners?

Has anyone used tire liners on their bike?  I saw them at REI and I'm wondering if they are worth the cost/effort or if they are even allowed on your bike during a tri event? Thoughts anyone?  Thanks!
