Tri Zones Training is happy to announce our fall/winter running programs. The running program includes something for everyone. 

All group workouts are run workouts at the track, where team members will enhance running form, increase speed, and improve endurance. Our off-season training schedule continues to emphasize the benefits of cross-training with swimming and cycling workouts included on the schedule throughout the week. We believe strongly in offering a wise training program that includes plenty of recovery.

All Fall-Winter Training Programs 

Workout Days: Wednesday evenings, 6:30 - 8:30pm att2007c

Location: Doss Elementary School att2008c-sm

Plus Saturday long runs for those training for the half marathon and marathon

All members of the TRI ZONES TRAINING off-season training groups will receive:

  • Coached weekly Wednesday night track workouts, with emphasis on improving technique, form, strength, balance, and speed
  • Group long runs on Saturdays for the half marathon and marathon training groups
  • Written training schedule every month
  • Implementation of heart rate training
  • Strength work guidance, including core strength EASrunforwater2007b
  • Email access to coach for questions, tips, and guidance 
  • Access to our team web site and discussion forum
  • Team tent at the finish line of the team's goal races

Great job to all the runners at the IBM 10K!

 

It was great to see the Tri-Zones yesterday. Everyone I got to talk to said they had a great race and felt good- several PR's!

These 3 drills will ensure Pose success!

 

For those of you that have been coming to the workouts, I hope you know that you are among a unique group that understands that learning Pose is a challenge but the rewards are worth the effort!

 There are 4 things to practice that will ensure success:

1. Learn the Pose: relax, soft knees, weight on the ball of your foot- this will also help you with balance

Half Marathon Training Program

Meeting Times: Wednesday @ 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Location(s): Doss Elementary School
Who: We welcome ALL speeds. You should comfortably be able to run 4-5 miles before beginning this program.

AT&T Austin Marathon Program

Meeting Times: Wednesday @ 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Who: We welcome ALL speeds. You should comfortably be able to run 8 miles before beginning this program.

To Pose or Not to Pose

I just wanted to know how other people are doing with the Pose method of running.  I am pretty slow at running (12-13 min. mile on long runs is my average).  Also, my training has been hit or miss because of family stuff, this last month.  When I left the training last Wed.
